Hair Tattooing in Bradford, Leeds & West Yorkshire | FAQs
Here at InkedIn Hairline Restoration, we work with customer comfort, confidence and satisfaction as priorities. We recognise that hair loss affects each individual differently, so we provide our scalp micropigmentation services on a bespoke basis. By catering to specific needs instead of offering a uniform solution, we deliver a scalp tattooing service that always exceeds expectations. In order to achieve this, we ensure that our clients in Leeds, Bradford and the wider Yorkshire have a complete understanding of the hair pigmentation process from the very outset.
As such, we take the time to answer every question our clients have about scalp pigmentation treatments. Below, we’ve listed some of the most frequently asked questions we receive about the hair tattooing process.
WHAT IS SCALP MICROPIGMENTATION?
Scalp micropigmentation is a procedure that replicates the appearance of a hair follicle. This process helps to restore the look of natural hair for people experiencing hair loss or those who want to cover up scarring on their head.
As a completely non-intrusive procedure, scalp pigmentation requires absolutely no surgery. Instead, our highly-trained personnel utilise specially designed colours and a unique application process to deposit a tiny dot of pigment into the dermal layer of the skin. The result of scalp tattooing perfectly mimics the presence of hair follicles.
HOW BIG ARE THE NEEDLES USED IN SCALP PIGMENTATION, AND DOES IT HURT?
Firstly, the needles used for hair pigmentation are three-quarters smaller than those used in standard tattooing procedures. We need to use such small needles to accurately replicate the tiny size of a hair follicle. For truly natural-looking results, these dots have roughly the same size as a small pin prick.
Regarding pain, everybody has a different threshold, so it remains impossible to predict how each of our clients might react. However, they universally agree that the sensation resembles more of a light discomfort. Some areas of the scalp contain denser collections of nerve endings, so the amount of discomfort changes as work progresses.
IS HAIR PIGMENTATION AN EXPENSIVE PROCESS?
When compared with other hair loss treatments, hair tattooing has significantly lower costs. While hair transplants remain extortionately priced with patchy results, and topical treatments require a lifetime of expenditure and dedication, scalp tattooing delivers outstanding, long-lasting results without draining your savings or eating up your time.
Prices vary from case to case. Naturally, an individual in Leeds with practically no hair requires more treatment than a person from Bradford simply looking to bolster their hairline.

HOW MANY SESSIONS DO I NEED?
As with the cost of hair pigmentation procedures, their length also depends on the work being carried out. Generally speaking, most clients receive two to three sessions with each one progressively shorter than the last.
WHAT IS THE RECOVERY PERIOD FOR SCALP MICROPIGMENTATION PROCEDURES?
Due to the nature of hair pigmentation, the skin requires time to heal. We allow the industry standard of one week of recovery between sessions so that the micro-wounds can dry up and close while also letting the pigments assimilate into the dermal layer.
We structure the sessions of each individual client around these recovery periods, ensuring swift scalp tattooing results with minimal discomfort.
In some cases, we recommend leaving as long as several weeks between the second and third session if possible. By giving the pigments time to fully settle, our personnel can pay attention to the areas that really need it.
WILL PEOPLE BE ABLE TO TELL I’VE HAD A HAIR TATTOOING TREATMENT?
As a scalp micropigmentation specialist, we produce incredibly realistic results. Quite simply, if our clients don’t tell people they have had the procedure, no one will know. All our previous clients in Bradford, Leeds and the neighbouring areas have reported complete satisfaction with the results of their scalp pigmentation.
DOES HAIR PIGMENTATION WORK ON PEOPLE WITH BLONDE OR LIGHT BROWN HAIR?
Absolutely. The team at InkedIn Hairline Restoration has the expertise to custom blend colours that precisely match any individual hair colour, be it blonde, red, brown or black.
WILL THE COLOURS FADE OVER TIME?
Unlike standard tattoos that have a habit of fading or turning blue or green, hair tattooing utilises a specially formulated ink custom-made for this very treatment. This allows the results to retain their shape and colour.
By design, hair pigmentation is a semi-permanent procedure that lasts anywhere between 3 to 10 years. Individual cases depend on variables such as time spent in the sun. However, we carry out top-ups in a swift, cost-effective manner.
